WORKSHOP: Intro to the Harp
6:00pm – 8:30pm | Mars Kurek
Mars is a singer, harpy, and songwriter. Well-certified and life-seasoned, she wants to connect and make music, in all mediums!
Meet the magic of an ancient instrument! Music fans, musicians, and harp admirers are all welcome to come and try out the harp, maybe for the very first time. Participants will make harmony on the harp, and try some basic techniques for making beautiful sounds. You will learn the elements of the instrument body that give the harp its haunting sound, and leave with a deeper understanding of the instrument. What makes the harp so captivating? We’ll find out together!
WEAR: Clothing without excessive buttons or snaps, within reason, for care of the instruments. You will be asked to wash your hands before your turn to play as the natural oils that build up on fingers contribute to wear on strings.
